Between 2008 and 2011, I made a photography documentary about the old National Stadium of Costa Rica, and the construction, once the old one was demolished, of the new Stadium.
During this process, I started designing concepts and layouts to publish a photography book, which finally became reality, in coordination with Jadine Publishers, in march 2011. This is part of the creative process.

» The Product
The book was released in march 2011; a landscape format book in full color 72 pages and more than 135 images, history, interviews and more.

» Creative process of the book
When the publisher sent me their first approach to the book as a PDF file, I sent back a series of changes for the graphic identity, logo, font selections and more suggestions which made it to the final cut.
Here is a «before and after» section with the initial publisher’s mockups and the final result with the feedback I provided them.
For me, not only as author of the book but as a graphic designer, was very important to have an active role in the creative process and to have a say in the final product, which in the end happened.

» Early concepts
These are some of the early graphic concepts I started sketching for this book back in 2008.
The first stage was to work on a mockup with the old National Stadium photos.
Then, when I started working in the construction process of the new Stadium, I designed some new mockups combining photos from the two stadiums.
